Duncanville Lawn Care’s Guide On Efficient Sprinkler System Repair

Sprinklers rank among the several unavoidable tools required for effective gardening. Sprinkler systems help irrigate garden lawns efficiently without wastage of water. Sprinklers make sure that all parts of the lawn receive the required moisture evenly. But as in the case of any other materials, tend to wear out or get damaged due to constant use and exposure. Sprinkler system repair, therefore, is a very essential garden related activity that you are forced to undertake from time to time.

Practicality and feasibility should be given stress while repairing the spoilt system. Sprinklers being complicated systems, give headaches to the owner with regard to fixing the problem, once it gets damaged. The consolation lies in the fact that once you identify the problem, you can make the system right by simply changing the faulty part.

The main parts of most sprinkler systems are a main inlet and a sprinkler head. Whether the owner is mowing the lawn or aerating the soil, there is every possibility of getting the main line spoilt. High pressure can break the sprinkler heads as well as over-exposure to heat and cold. Extensive use also takes its toll on sprinkler heads.

Once you have determined the damaged spot, it is very easy to repair the main line. Normally you can see puddles forming around where the line is damaged. You have to dig deep down in the area to expose the pipe where it is ruined. It is better to use a hacksaw or pipe cutter to remove these portions. Easy repair would be facilitated by making the cut smooth and straight. The cut-off portions of the pipe can be replaced by expansion repair couplings. A high-quality adhesive can be used to attach them with the line which already exists.

If the riser is damaged, it has to be replaced. The sprinkler head also can get destroyed and in such an eventuality, unscrew the head but make sure that the riser is not removed from its place. It should be noted that it is not feasible to repair broken heads or risers. What you have to do is fit in a totally new one in place of the old broken sprinkler head after removing the debris. Thus, with prompt sprinkler system repair, you can make sure that your plants are supplied their daily quota of water without fail.
